Collections: Living plant collections at the garden include plants within the garden (2000 species) and those stored within the Seed Bank as viable seed.

The Seed Bank contains seed collected from plants in the garden over a 30 year period. Some species no longer represented in the garden are held as seed.

The University Herbarium (150,000 sheets) is not currently covered by the Collecting Policy of the garden.

The garden is developing ethnobotanical and timber specimens. A Botanical resources project has recently been funded by the Royal Society. The project aims to coordinate and share botanical resources, for example, interpretation, posters, images, leaflets, with other botanic gardens and relevant organisations.

Access: Varied public and CPD education programme, including accredited and non accredited courses. Themed events interpret a variety of issues. Plant collections recently onto a database, web accessible from end Aug 2003. Exhibition and display space. Regular lectures and guided walks.
